What does WH2H stand for?
WH2H stands for WE Hike to heal – or Women Everywhere Hike to Heal.
The mission of the #WeHiketoHeal Campaign is to encourage women all over the world to tap into the healing and empowering influences within ourselves, our communities and the Great Outdoors.
Are WH2H Hikes only for women?
Each WH2H Hike Lead can make that determination for their group hikes, however We Hike to Heal events should always center women identified folks. If you do choose to open your hike up to all individuals, please be sure to list it as such on your event registration.
We have found that when we have mixed gender groups, and/or allow children or pets – we tend to not be able to focus on ourselves as much because we are distracted by our natural tendency to put others first.
Who can Lead a We Hike to Heal group hike?
Any woman identified individual around the world that is willing and able to complete a short training, follow the WH2H model and lead other hikers safely in their area.
How long does a WH2H hike need to be?
There are no time or distance requirements. We just ask that you find an appropriate trail in your area and inform your participants of the difficulty level and distance prior to your hike.
How do I schedule my WH2H Hike?
Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will schedule your group hike yourself on the platform of your choosing; i.e. Eventbrite, Facebook, Meetup, your website, etc.
Once you’ve created your event, you will receive a form to add your hike(s) to the We Hike to Heal website as well.
How do I lead more WH2H Hikes like these?
Our Ambassador Program allows individuals to join our team, receive training and certifications to regularly lead group hikes in their area. Applications for this years team is already closed. Applications will open again February 1, 2024.
