BE in the Feels

BrookeMindful Meadow

Workout with emphasis on long holds to create a slow burn effect to remind ourselves of our resiliency. We can do hard things even as they get harder!

Brooke is our #wehiketoheal Ambassador from Philly and the Operations Manager for Nanodropper, a medical device startup that invented the Nanodropper Adaptor. The device is an adaptor that twists on to an eyedrop bottle, replaces the original cap and tip, and produces a smaller eyedrop that’s perfectly suited for the human eye. This triples the amount of drops per bottle, equating to huge savings and waste reduction for patients and eyecare professionals. Previously, Brooke was the Executive Director of Wellfit Girls, a nonprofit offering leadership, fitness and empowerment programs to teen girls in Southwest Florida. She was the first person in her family to earn a Master’s degree, where she discovered her passion and love for non-profit causes. Brooke is also a certified personal trainer, health and life coach, Wilderness First Responder, and has completed two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings. Prior to joining Wellfit Girls, Brooke completed a Human Resources internship in Costa Mesa, California with a sustainable, non-profit fashion brand called Krochet Kids International. During this internship she learned about humanizing fashion and the ability to offer employment and education to empower women in poverty internationally. Brooke also believes in the mental and emotionally healing powers of nature. She has participated in multiple hikes around the country along with the Wellfit Girls expedition experiences. Each time she is in nature she learns something new about who she is. This powerful, inner knowing experience is what she hopes to create for all who join #WeHikeToHeal!

Paper Arts

PatsyPoint Pavilion

Collage, visual journaling, folded bookbinding, watercolor, and collaborative paper weaving are all offered during this session. Supplies for this session are provided however attendees are invited to bring personal supplies if desired.

Patsy Rausch is an art teacher at Kincaid Elementary in Cobb County. In 2016, she instituted an innovative, district-wide *STEAM-Integrated Portable Papermaking Studio. The studio is one of the National Collaborators of Peace Paper Project and is the only portable paper studio in the state of Georgia. Her graduate thesis in the Master of Art & Design Program at KSU: Hand Papermaking for Post Pandemic Healing has promoted a health-giving element to her workshops fluctuating the STEAM focus to incorporate an SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) component. This labor of love has been an “occupational side-hustle”; her personal works lean into photography, papermaking mixed-media collage, and printmaking. Her work, both in papermaking and photography, have been included in “Art of the Art Teacher” at the Mableton Arts Center, The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, and M2R Fence Art Gallery.
