“ROOTED WOMEN” BIPOC CAMPOUT + HEALING RETREAT

July 23, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - July 25, 2021 @ 10:00 am EDT

We’re excited to announce that we are hosting our first Campout and Healing retreat along with Hipcamp and REI!

The “Rooted WMN” (Rooted Women):  Bipoc Campout and Healing Retreat is a sacred space for outdoor respite and relaxation for women of color.

Sponsored by Hipcamp and REI and powered by The Outdoor Journal. “Rooted WMN” will give both first time and seasoned campers the opportunity to learn from each other and the land, while forging a deeper connection with themselves.

Rooted WMN is an all inclusive outdoor retreat experience that offers various accommodations based on guests comfort levels, from “Do-it-Yourself” good old fashioned tent camping, to more comfortable “Glamping” options with all necessary gear provided and ready for your arrival. This 3 day, 2 night retreat will foster community, introspection and a safe space for women to soak in the healing powers of Mother Nature.

Why Rooted WMN?

Women of color have endured centuries of oppression, marginalization, and disenfranchisement in this country and abroad. We carry the weight of world on our shoulders, and we deserve a space to unload, and quite literally, reground. The Rooted WMN retreat was designed to offer women of color a safe space to pause and enjoy the healing powers of both nature and community.

Our campout will take place on a beautiful 53 acre ranch near Crawfordville, GA. The property is owned by a Black woman, and special care has been taken to ensure that the majority of our vendors and service providers for the weekend are also women of color.

While not limited to BIPOC persons, Rooted WMN: does center women of color. That means discussion topics, sister circles, and other activities will focus on the BIPOC perspective and experience.  Rooted WMN will be a highly personalized experience, because of that capacity will be limited.

CDC recommended covid-19 safety protocols will be followed and enforced. Please visit our FAQ page for more details.
